997.2 TT PDK vs 458 ITALIA
-
No surprise the tuned turbo takes it, very strong. Just goes to show how big a difference an ecu tune makes on that car. Dodging trucks while racing isn't the safest though...
-
yea man, that tune was what it needed.
-
saw this on 6speed yesterday. That turbo is quick. I see they mention the HP difference but where is the tq figures? Torque is what won the race.

Uh... they are a function of one another. It's the hp increase up top, from the added torque x revs, which won the race.

Yes, but thats not what I am talking about. The Turbo probably has 100 tq more than the Italia thats why it won the race. The TT has more turning power.

The TT has more torque to begin with yet it loses vs. the 458, why is that?
Diesel 3 series have more torque torque than E46 M3's, they lose, why is that?

With the tune it gains more torque.
Its a combination of both that make the car faster. But mainly is the amount of torque.

Wherever it gains torque, it gains horsepower.

Tell that to a stock Italia that with less torque takes it down... or to a GT3 that has no trouble taking down a stock GT500, or... etc. etc.

its no the same. in those situations weight is a big factor.

It is the same, those are much higher torque cars.
It is top end horsepower that wins you a top end race. Same reason an NA M5 can pull a tuned RS6 V10 TT, way less torque, but strong top end HP.
Revs multiply torque, that is why horsepower wins you these types of races. You are correct to say torque was increased, as it had to be to increase HP, but this isn't a low end torque race.

That's your porsche ? nice runs !

OMG, someone considering putting an ESS SC'd car up for sale... something must be horribly wrong.
Just kidding bro, thought I would take a page out your book for a second. The 997TT is a great platform and if I did not have my car that would likely be the car I would have.

Great runs and videos! I got a chuckle out of the guy flashing his highbeams in the last video.
