In addition to my daily driver (335i), I have a Datsun 240Z project car that I have been working on with my brother for the past 10 years. The work has been off and on which is why it has taken so long, but this past weekend we finally got to drive it, albeit slowly, for the first time.

Being part of the community on the BMW side, I feel compelled to share. Check it out:



Drive train:


  • Stock internal Ford 302 from a 1991 Mustang GT
  • Performer 302 intake with a 600cfm double pumper w/ mech secondaries
  • Block hugger headers
  • Ford T-5 with a 3.7 gearing and CV shafts from a 300zx
  • 2-Way clutch LSD


Suspension/Brakes:


  • Urethane bushings
  • Adjustable coilovers all around 200#F and 225#R
  • 12.2x1.25" 4-piston Wilwood front with 12.2x0.81" 4-piston Wilwood rear
  • Rota RB-R wheels in 17x9 -13 front and 17x9 -19 rear
  • 255/40/17 and 275/40/17 BFG KDs
  • Rear suspension all adjustable billet aluminum


Hoping for 2000-2100# wet and 250hp or so. Next motor will be 470hp or so.
