Not your usual drag race - 2011 CTS-V Wagon vs. E71 X6 M vs. Porsche Panamera Turbo
This was awesome to see. MotorTrend pitted a performance sedan, SUV, and wagon all against each other. Now, we don't want to spoil the race for you but AWD clearly plays a role. For a RWD car like the CTS-V to really show what it can do on the strip vs. AWD cars it needs drag radials and a burnout. So, it is at a disadvantage but the same disadvantage it would have on the street. Also, MotorTrend deserves commendation for actually posting ET's and traps. They aren't actual slips, but we will take it.

I call BS, no way. It didnt even sound like they got on it, and looked they were moving slower than dirt. I say its fake.
I do like how you see him move the seat forward, and the other guy drinks coffee.. just like what would really happen if all 3 randomly came to a stoplight

Not very exciting... btw who really cares if these are fast? its for driving your childeren around, no?
I guess after you drop them off you could make it home quick?
Who buys a cts-v wagon anyways? The other two ok, I would actually drive but come on.

CTS-V is a great cart like ZR-1 and new Mustang, but the fanboys of these three cars make everything look bad.
look at the comments in that review, That stupid guy is comparing CTS-V sedan to Bentley Mulsanne and Aston Rapid !!!!!!!

The Panamera Turbo is definitely in line to be my next car when I go shopping in a few years...it's just an absolute monster.
Now that CTS-V wagon is something else...I've never been a fan of wagons, but I must say that is the ultimate sleeper. Just think about it for a second; an ultra low-volume family station wagon with 555HP and a 6-speed manual transmission...I don't think there has ever been anything like this on the market before. I honestly wouldnt be shocked if it became a real collectors item someday.
Love that X6M, too...I appreciate performance in all forms and the X5/X6Ms/Jeep SRTS/ML63s are the performance enthusiast's dream if you absolutely need AWD with more clearance/storage than most sport sedans can provide.
