Porsche will race in the GTE class of the 2013 24 Hours of Le Mans with two 991 generation 911 GT3 RSR race cars

The 991 GT3 RSR development sure has come along very quickly. Porsche announced they will have Porsche AG Team Manthey field two cars in the GTE class for the 2013 24 Hours of Le Mans. Porsche Motorsport boss Hartmut Kristen stated, "The new 911 RSR is currently being developed by our engineers and tested by our works drivers, and what better time could there be to introduce the new car than the Porsche 911’s 50th anniversary."

Porsche is taking Le Mans very seriously since announcing their return to competition for the overall victory by entering an LMP-1 effort. Porsche will now also contend in the hotly contested GTE class. Great respect for Porsche Motorsport and their willingness to compete in a variety of classes.
