CO exhaust leaks can kill you

As this Finnish guy Sami Mäkäräinen almost found out.
He barely survived a trackday when his Toyoya MR2 GT-S developed an exhaust leak into the cockpit during a session.

Damn, I think the scariest part was how long it took them to get him out of the car and to turn the car off....I mean first off they casually walked over to the car, took forever knocking on windows, I mean if someone spins out or any situation where a car stops on the track, the response should be immediate, when someone isn't responding, they should have immediately broken the window to get in, then shut off the car right away, get the driver out, and give him oxygen, doesn't matter if you don't know what's wrong, if someone is passed out or non-responsive any EMT knows it is most likely caused by lack of oxygen to the brain.

My god they took their sweet time breaking the glass. Driver is clearly losing consciousness and they’re just peering into the windows like a kid at the zoo. That must have been a serious exhaust leak.

    Guy was really lucky!

Also that he went out in a safe place.
This track is very dangerous,if it would happened in the next corner,he would have ended up straight in the wall with quite high speed.

Some amateur events like that radalle.com stuff have stupid regulations like closed windows unfortunately..

Oh my! The dude is just lying there dying and they keep knocking on the windows to see if he will respond Click here to enlarge

Unless you have a mid engine car like this guy you probably don't have to worry about it. No way fumes will go inside unless you have a hole in your firewall/floor.
