Finally someone pitted the 8V RS3 against the new B9 generation Audi RS5. Obviously the Audi RS5 ditches its old naturally aspirated V8 for a new 2.9 liter twin turbo V6 whose design is shared with the Porsche Panamera 4S.

The RS5 despite being roughly 300 pounds heavier based on Euro spec is the quicker and faster car although just barely. If the RS3 had a better launch it would have been closer.

Obviously Audi has to maintain the model hierarchy so the RS5 gets the acceleration edge out of the box. The better tuning platform is the RS3 however. It's lighter, it already is making much more power, and it has a dual clutch transmission as the cherry on top.

The RS5 is said to not be as involving but a pleasure to drive. It looks very composed but it just does not seem to be as exciting as the RS3.
