Audi S6, S7, and S8 revealed ahead of Frankfurt, all feature twin turbo 4.0 liter direct injected V8's 4.0 TFSI

Audi released official details on three new models. We wish they did it one at a time instead of all at once but here they are, the new S6, S7, and S8. No surprises here, they have the specs and motors we have been reporting about for some time. The S8 gets a twin turbo V8 with 513 horsepower, very nice. Who needs a W12 A8 now? The S6 and S7 both get the same 414 twin turbo V8, not a single turbo as previously thought. It is also paired to a DSG dual clutch gearbox which is very nice to hear. Expect the RS6 and RS7 to get the S8's motor. We do not know if the S6 and S7 have the same turbos but if they do it should make for some interesting tuning.

i wonder what difference the s8's motor has. if its just boost/software based and nothing hardware/internals then the s7 should prove to be a good competitor when the ecu is unlocked/tuned.

That is the main question and I'm going to ask Audi at Frankfurt.
