    Evolve's tuned F10 M5 vs. everything - C7 RS6, W205 C63 AMG S, Pagani Huayra, Lamborghini Huracan, and Porsche 991.1 Turbo S

Talk about some pretty impressive hardware! Evolve took their tuned F10 M5 to Vmax event which is essentially top end racing. Their ECU tuned F10 M5 did not shy away from some stout competition and it did incredibly well.

C7 Audi RS6. The all wheel drive wagon gets the F10 M5 as it just goes WOT off the line but the M5 runs it down and passes easily. Just a much stronger top end pull:

Next up is a tuned W205 C63 AMG S. The C63 just is outclassed:

Now we get to the good stuff. How about a Pagani Huayra? The odds of ever seeing one are slim let alone getting a run with one. The Huayra features a 700 horsepower AMG M158 twin turbo V12. Yes, it can be tuned although this seems to be a stock example. It is blistering fast in stock form and only weighs 3064 pounds.

The M5 and the Huayra are door to door but then the Pagani starts to edge at higher speeds. The BMW sedan really hangs in there well against an incredible exotic:

Next up is a Lamborghini Huracan. It just does not have the top end pull to compete:

Finally, a Porsche 991 Turbo S. The Porsche just rockets off the line and has a huge lead. The M5 has to run it down but begins to close the gap. It actually manages to catch up and pass.

An event like this where the M5 can really stretch its legs is well suited to its strengths.

I miss running at Bruntingthorpe. Used to be more fun when you could drag a 1/2 mile down the other side of the runway, and take the u-turn before the big 2 mile straight. Thanks for posting.

Damn impressive....I can only imagine when you combine this engine with AWD and the same overall weight....what it will do to the RS6....

Also, what does " Evolve tuned" mean? Tune = given, Intake? Downpipes? Meth? Upgraded Turbos? Clutch?

Thanks for sharing Sticky. On my next run I actually got a higher trap speed than the Huayra of 193 vs his 191 mph. Pleased with how the car is performing.

    Car spec is as follows:

Evolve Stage 2 + ECU Tune
    Evolve Catless Downpipes
    Supersprint Rear Exhaust
    Eventuri Intakes
    93 OCT (99RON) Fuel
    Pirelli Trofeo-R Tyres
    Stock Clutch

Have some more video coming against some other cars including a 675 LT.

The main runway is 2mi long. They must have changed the format, because the speeds are way down from where they were in the past (as a data point my old modded 996TT went 199 - speedo said 204 - through the beams in 2007 I think). You used to run 1/2 mile down the other side of the runway, and then take the u-turn at the end to go onto the long straight. Turn exit speeds were ~60-70mph.

Operation looks much better organized and safer now. 10yrs ago it was a total free for all. My bud Leon went through the beams at 222mph in his RUF at one event. I always wore a helmet, but was an outlier in doing that. It's a private runway rental, and not sure of the insurance requirements. Cars would go with passengers, convertible roof down, etc. never any serious incidents outside of spins coming onto the main straight - that might be why the format changed.

With only "these" mod with upgraded turbo is super impressive, but i really dont get it how the huayra is getting "paced" by upgraded m5, the huayra got so much power and lighter too and designed to run on tracks... and opinion @Sticky

Well if you want my opinion the V12 is is a torque monster but not really a top end design. Also, the Huayra does not have a dual clutch.

It's a very quick car as you can see but in a race where you are basically going to top speed after a certain point the weight does not matter quite as much.

I'll be able to better break it down with a Huayra dyno.

Hm, good point with the Huayra.

I looked up the results from the last years from Vmax200 events, and there was a Mercedes SL600 BiTurbo tuned by Kleeman which did quite good 194 MPH. And this in a 2 ton car.

But as Sticky said, weight is not so important for the top end.
