Whifbitz is running 700+ hp through a stock BMW E92 M3 DCT transmission they swapped into a MKIV Toyota Supra

This conversion was actually completed a couple years ago yet it is surprising we are only getting run videos of it now. Whifbitz in the UK did this DCT transmission swap into a MKIV Toyota Supra and is controlling it with a Syvecs S6Plus ECU.

Why a DCT swap? Well, they explain their reasoning here:

The DCT version of the M3 is 0.2 seconds faster from 0-60 over the manual version, thats just one gearchange. Imagine if you’re on a race track, how much faster it would be on a lap.

    2. Manual and auto modes. So if you want to just poodle around in auto mode it drives as smooth as a normal automatic. Then flick the gearlever to the right and you have a sequential gearbox or you can use the flappy paddles on the steering wheel.

    3. Throttle blipping on downshifts, this sounds amazing!

    4. Better fuel economy and less power loss than any auto gearbox as its direct drive, no power sapping torque converter.

    5. Launch control, this can’t be done on auto cars.

    6. Clutches are immersed in fluid so don’t wear as fast as normal clutches.

The gearbox is attached to the engine with a custom made billet flywheel and billet aluminium adaptor plate. The conversion comes with a new mount for the gearbox which allows it to bolt onto the stock location and uses a new propshaft flange to bolt directly to a stock Supra propshaft too.

We’ve also fitted a drive by wire throttle using a Bosch item that’s normally found on a Porsche 996 turbo. This bolts directly to the stock manifold with a custom made billet aluminium adaptor. The throttle pedal has to be changed to a drive by wire type too, all available as part of the kit.

The BMW M3 gearlever has been fitted to control all the different modes, which looks and feels amazing installed in the Supra. This is used to select between auto and manual modes, reverse and manual gear changes. This also has a separate button called Drivelogic which allows 6 adjustments on the shift speed from slow to fast, from soft to hard shifting depending on your mood.
The benefits are obvious but Whifbitz apparently is keeping all the information to themselves and if you want the swap you have to go through them.

Their Supra is making about 700 horsepower and the gearbox is stock for now. They plan to add Dodson upgrades shortly.

Adding a dual clutch to some older cars is a great way to give them a modern performance and comfort boost. Hopefully we see more of these DCT transmission swaps into various cars.

A standalone TCU for the gearbox, so you can use what ECU you like. (Or already have)

Well, you need the DCT trans and the Syvecs box which is around $5k. Not a cheap proposition.

I know that, I was looking for the cost of their custom CNC pieces.

This is unreal! Super cool that someone is doing this - and that it appears to be working properly. I am guessing they chose the E90 DCT because of the similar max RPM from both engines? I didn't know anyone fully cracked the TCU, but haven't been paying too close attention to the DCT tuning game. Regardless of all that, awesome job - this is beyond cool!

EDIT: I need to read before posting. Didn't see this was being controlled by a different TCU (unless I am misunderstanding). Does the Syvecs control both the gearbox and engine, or are they using a modded/cracked TCU from the M3?

    Syvecs controls both.

No, Syvecs sends various data to the TCU, which still controls the DCT.
