      BMW ZF 8HP TCU cracked - AutoTuner launches TCU tuning for all ZF 8HP automatic BMW F&G Series models

      This is great news for tuning newer turbo BMW's with the ZF 8HPXX automatic gearboxes. AutoTuner cracked the TCU (transmission control unit) and it will be up to tuners to implement TCU tuning which should now accelerate greatly.

      Does this mean BMW F90 M5's will be able to upgrade their transmissions with new hardware? Perhaps. It certainly is a step in the right direction.

      This has been covered for quite a while now, tools like CMD and a few others have been offering this feature for F and G series almost since they came out. The actual limitation is on the latest 2019-2020 TCU models, as they dont support READ of the hex, only a Virtual ID, which is limited to the exact SW number being available in their database. Like the case of the A90 Supra and or 2020 BMW G models, which are not supported because protocol differences and of course, hard to source STOCK OEM calibrations to write into the modules...

      It will be very interesting to see if AT actually is covering this new TCUs, and not just incorporated what the other companies already had out there....

      Please update us when you know if AutoTuner is covering the new TCU's.
